Comments: Prior to the 1920s Gladys Owen painted traditional landscapes in watercolour and exhibited with the Society of Women Painters and the Royal Art Society. However during the ?twenties her work became more informed by modernism. She studied under Iain McNab at the Grosvenor School of Modern Art in London and married the modernist painter and architect John D Moore. In 1932 she held a joint exhibition in Sydney with printmaker Ether Spowers. Owen's work is represented in public galleries including the National Gallery of Australia
