From Scenery in and around Sydney, 1856, a second portfolio containing six lithographic sketches. Inscribed in block lr Avenue approach to the Botanical Gardens Sydney Comments: Gill arrived in Sydney from Victoria in 1856 and produced the two parts of his 'Scenery in & around Sydney' the same year. There were six plates in each part. The views from the second part are ‘Circular Quay’, 'Dry dock, Balmain', 'General Post Office', 'Australian Club House', 'City Rail Terminus' and 'Avenue approach to the Botanical Gardens'. These images are rare with none recorded previously at auction.
